Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 26 July 2026

Glen Eden Taxi respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • Names, phone numbers, email addresses and contact preferences.
  • Booking references, pickup and drop-off locations, dates and times.
  • Passenger, luggage, vehicle, flight, payment and booking notes.
  • Driver identity, contact, vehicle, licensing and compliance information.
  • Messages and delivery-status information from email and WhatsApp.
  • Limited technical and campaign information such as browser details, page visits and advertising attribution identifiers.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide quotes, manage bookings and deliver transport services.
  • Assign drivers and send operational booking or payment notifications.
  • Provide secure, time-limited pickup and drop-off location links.
  • Process payments, maintain business records and respond to enquiries.
  • Protect our customers, drivers, website and systems from misuse.
  • Understand service performance and improve our website and operations.

3. Email and WhatsApp messaging

We use email and the WhatsApp Business Platform for transactional and operational messages. Driver WhatsApp reminders are enabled only after the driver agrees to receive them and can be disabled by an administrator at any time. We do not use driver reminder messages for advertising.

4. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when needed to provide our services, comply with the law, or protect people and our systems. Providers may include drivers, Meta and WhatsApp, email providers, payment providers, website hosting and security services, and mapping services such as Google Maps.

5. Storage, security and retention

We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. We keep information only for as long as reasonably required for bookings, customer support, accounting, safety, legal obligations and dispute resolution. Secure driver location links expire automatically.

6. Cookies and website measurement

Our website may use essential cookies for security and site operation, and limited measurement or attribution tools to understand how people find and use our services. Browser controls can be used to restrict cookies, although some website functions may then be unavailable.

7. Access and correction

You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate information be corrected. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

8. Data deletion requests

You may request deletion of personal information associated with Eden Taxi messaging, bookings or driver services by emailing [email protected]. Include your name, phone number and booking reference where applicable so we can locate the correct records. Do not send passwords or access tokens.

We will confirm the request, verify identity where necessary, and delete or de-identify information that we are not required to retain for legal, accounting, safety or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. Contact us

Questions, privacy requests and complaints can be sent to [email protected]. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe a privacy concern has not been resolved.
